Sebastián PERNET (a.k.a. "Seb") is the Co-Founder and a Board-Member of the Youth For Public Transport (Y4PT) Foundation, an international non-profit NGO headquartered in Belgium. Today, Y4PT is the world's oldest, largest, and leading global youth network for sustainable mobility, featuring volunteer-run chapters across the globe. Established in 2005 by UITP, Y4PT became a fully independent organization in 2025 to mark its 20th anniversary. The foundation is supported by major global transport stakeholders.

Y4PT encourages the active participation of young people in advocating for public transport as the cornerstone of multimodal mobility solutions. This aligns with a holistic vision of sustainable transport that strives for greater well-being and a better quality of life for people worldwide, in harmony with all living beings.

Within Y4PT, he oversees core areas including international high-level public relations, large-scale global events, knowledge, learning, research, development, innovation, operations, and the management of EU-funded projects, among others. Under his leadership, one of Y4PT's flagship initiatives (the Global Transport Hackathon series, an international innovation contest) was recognized by the European Mobility Week Secretariat (European Commission) as one of the best practices of 2017.

"Transport is a means to an end." This is how he describes his work philosophy. Serving as a long-standing collaborator across various non-profit organizations has been a unique and rewarding experience, bridging opportunities for today's youth and future generations worldwide. Together, they advocate for and envision an environmentally friendly mobility system that is also egalitarian, inclusive, and accessible to everyone.

He also works as an international freelance professional and management consultant, advising major stakeholders on a wide range of issues related to both passenger and freight transport.
