  • MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF Y4PT

    Dear mobility campaigners around the globe:

    We are proud to launch our next big Y4PT event to promote and generate attention on the future of our urban mobility.

    The current world is running too fast on a path that is not leading anywhere. Unless we do not stop and try to understand what is the future that we are willing to build for our next generations, our senseless run will just end up nowhere.

    In a world that is more and more hyper connected, or pretending to be so, many actions should be undertaken to bring real energy to all and transform in positive and healthy ways the life of many.

    Mobility, a smarter and clean one, should be at the base of this.

    The above, will be the gist for our upcoming encounter that will take place next June 2015 in the Italian city of Milan.

    This date is an important one, as the fashion capital of Italy will host meanwhile the new edition of the Universal Exposition series (EXPO Milan 2015), which will run in parallel of our youth meeting and will enhance our core topic: in fact the main issue of this EXPO is “Feeding the planet, Energy for life”.

    Many reflections will be done and could be done: but what I’d like you to focus on is this:

    Reach a natural place, a mountain, the sea, the countryside, where no humans are there. Breathe the air, calmly and slowly. Move, walk, cycle. Feel the difference and compare it when you are in the cities, juggling between the cars, the noise, the smog, the pressure, the stress.

    Which life would you like for your future days and the ones of your families? I believe many will respond a combination of the two ones with the quality of the first one.

    If you feel as we feel, we would love to meet you in Milan. Talk with us, generate with us this future, an optimistic and clear one, and raise all together a bouncy youth movement, to strengthen and enhance a new generation of fit, healthy and enthusiastic people.

  • Y4PT INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CHECKUP MILAN 2015

    With the same aim of a business audit, a Y4PT Youth Checkup is a way through young professionals are granted the opportunity to assess and delivering their feedback on the performance of any transport-related mobility stakeholder organization, on a specific matter.

    For the very first time, Y4PT will be launching this brand-new youth participation event format to assess each UITP Milan 2015 Congress Session and showcasing own recommendations on the topics addressed on the spot.

    Two (2) outputs are expected: one (1) video-clip and one (1) printable report.

  • Y4PT QUEST GAME MILAN 2015

    So as done in Karlsruhe (Germany, Europe) and Dubai (UAE, Middle East) in 2014, a new version of the Y4PT Quest Game series will take place in Milan as an effective way of experiencing local urban transport system in a pre-arranged scenario (resembling different types of urban transport users) and delivering youth-inspired recommendations for improving service (with particular attention to the HEALTH issue in transport).

    Y4PT Youth Delegates will follow a self-guided travel itinerary to the entire urban transport system (air/water/road/rail-based), and major urban centralities in the City of Milan.

  • CELEBRATING THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF Y4PT

    This fifth edition of the Y4PT World Youth Meeting series will denote a special one-off milestone in the lifetime of UITP and its strong long-term commitment in supporting youth: the celebration of the first 10 years of uninterrupted activities of Y4PT.

    For this reason, several happenings will be held:

    • Commemorative Speeches addressed by:
      • Mr. Alain FLAUSCH
        • Current UITP Secretary-General
        • Co-Founder & Chairman of the Board of Directors of Y4PT Foundation
        • Note: Under his administration the Y4PT Foundation was established.
      • Mrs. Alessandra GORINI
        • Co-Founder & Executive Director of Y4PT Foundation
        • Note: Since its introduction she has been leading and managing the Youth topic inside UITP.
    • Delivery of a printable Report on the 1st Decade of Y4PT:
      • It will include the Y4PT Idearium 2005-2015: 10 years planting, growing and harvesting youth-driven ideas for envisioning sustainable mobility worldwide. It will show to all UITP members a compendium of the wide range of innovative ideas that young people from all over the world have put forward after one decade of uninterrupted activities of Y4PT (in 2005 the UITP Youth Project was created, the forerunner of Y4PT Foundation).

    • Video displaying the timeline of Y4PT that will include all the young people who have been involved, their ideas, UITP members and other stakeholders that have contributed to make possible Y4PT, etc.

      • Y4PT is willing to give the floor to an internationally-renowned personality to share with the audience his/her vision on HEALTHY and sustainable lifestyles and the importance of coaching the youth.

  • 3RD Y4PT YOUTH AWARDS MILAN 2015

    - Healthier Societies by fostering Sustainable Mobility from a Youth Approach -
    The global youth-inspired sustainable mobility awards

    This time the 3rd Y4PT Youth Awards Milan 2015 is organized in conjunction with UITP and will honour youth-related public transport projects contributing to a healthier society, in line with the Y4PT World Healthy Mobility Campaign: http://www.y4pt.org/projects/campaigns/healthy-mobility/ .

    Projects submitted for this edition should deal with the health dimension in public transport, should be developed, carried out, inspired by or addressed to young people, and should be implemented during the last two (2) years. They also should be convergent with ambition of doubling public transport market share worldwide by 2025 (PTX2): http://www.uitp.org/strategy-public-transport/ .

  • Y4PT EXHIBITION STAND

    Thanks to UITP and FNM, a Y4PT-branded Exhibition Stand will be set up as a depiction of the Y4PT World Healthy Mobility Campaign 2014-2015, for encouraging HEALTHY lifestyles through highly-physical-activity-intensive sustainable means of transport, not only the ones comprising public transport, but also the so-called active transport (walking, cycling, among others).     Y4PT Youth Delegates are university-level students (undergraduates in the last year of studies, and graduates) and young professionals in the transport-related mobility sector with different academic backgrounds, some of them working for UITP Members.

    Y4PT Youth Delegates must prove basic knowledge and/or experience in transport-related mobility topics and in project administration/management. Open-minded and proactive attitude. Excellent communication and group-based work skills, especially in an English-speaking environment.

  • 4TH Y4PT WORLD YOUTH MEETING (Y4PT DUBAI 2014)

    Under three core topics (Healthy Mobility, Youth Engagement & Smart Mobility), the last (fourth) edition of the Y4PT World Youth Meeting series was held in the Emirate of Dubai (United Arab Emirates, Middle East), from 25 April 2014 until 01 May 2014, in the framework of the UITP Middle East & North Africa Region Congress and Exhibition (UITP MENA Dubai 2014). Both events took place in parallel and were hosted by Roads & Transport Authority of the Emirate of Dubai (RTA Dubai).
