The Y4PT World Youth Meeting series is the leading worldwide event aimed at addressing transport-related mobility issues from a youth approach. Under three core topics (Healthy Mobility, Youth Engagement & Smart Mobility), the fourth edition will be held in the Emirate of Dubai (United Arab Emirates, Middle East), from 25 April 2014 until 01 May 2014, in the framework of the UITP Middle East & North Africa Region Congress and Exhibition (UITP MENA Dubai 2014). Both events take place in parallel and are hosted by Roads & Transport Authority of the Emirate of Dubai (RTA Dubai).

• Y4PT Youth Parliament:
  • Description: Deliberating over transport-related mobility issues from a youth approach and addressing resolutions to UITP Members and other major stakeholders worldwide.
  • Topic: How to engage young people in transport-related mobility issues? A particular focus on MENA Region. Sharing international experiences, lessons learned and best practices.
• Discover Dubai:
  • A sightseeing tour to the most famous landmarks and most amazing landscapes in the Emirate of Dubai. A one-off opportunity to meet the local vibrant culture and rich heritage, and to experience first-hand the world-renowned Emirati people’s warm hospitality.
• Y4PT Youth Lab:
  • Description: Putting forward youth-prompted feasible pioneering solutions for boosting transport-related mobility sector worldwide.
  • Topic: Many travel needs, one smart intermodal solution. Simplifying people’s mobility demands across all modes/means of transport. From mainstream mobility to smart mobility: Towards an internationally-renowned smart city, – Dubai’s vision for Expo 2020 -.
• Technical Visit:
  • RTA Dubai-guided technical visits to the entire urban transport system (air/water/ground/rail-based), and major urban centralities in the Emirate of Dubai.
• Official Launch of DY4PT Initiative & Celebration of the 1st Anniversary of Y4PT Foundation (Sunday, 27 April, 2014, from 06:00 P.M. to 07:00 P.M. at DICC – Exhibition Hall – Y4PT Stand):
  • Launching Dubai Youth For Public Transport (DY4PT) Initiative by Y4PT UAE-Dubai Chapter – www.y4pt.org/chapters/ – & celebrating the 1st Anniversary of Establishment of Y4PT Foundation, with RTA Dubai as its 1st Honorary Founding Member.
  • Speech by:
    • H.E. Mr. Mattar Mohamed AL-TAYER, Chairman & Executive Director, RTA Dubai
    • Mr. Alain FLAUSCH, Secretary-General, UITP
    • Mrs. Alessandra GORINI, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Y4PT Foundation
• Y4PT Quest Game – Dubai Edition:
  • Description: Experiencing local urban transport system in a pre-arranged scenario (resembling different types of urban transport users) and delivering youth-inspired recommendations for improving service.
  • Topic: Self-guided travel itinerary to the entire urban transport system (air/water/road/rail-based), and major urban centralities in the Emirate of Dubai.
• Y4PT Exhibition Stand (a depiction of the Y4PT World Healthy Mobility Campaign):
  • Featuring the “Y4PT International Healthy Mobility Highway”, a bike-based simulator to encourage the use of “healthy” means/modes of transport.
  • Special Moment (Tuesday, 29 April, 2014, between 11:00 A.M. to 01:00 P.M. at DICC – Exhibition Hall – Y4PT Stand):
    • “Last triumphal stage” by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid AL MAKTOUM, the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Dubai (TBC).
    • Releasing Survey Report (results and findings after the Y4PT World Healthy Mobility Campaign: The “Filling Out The Survey” Challenge) – www.y4pt.org/projects/campaigns/healthy-mobility/modal-shift/world-2014/ -.
• UITP MENA Dubai 2014 Closing Ceremony by Y4PT (Wednesday, 30 April, 2014, from 11:15 A.M. to 12:45 P.M. at DICC – Al-Multaqua Ball Room):
  • Final Act by Y4PT Youth Delegates coming from North Africa & Middle East (MENA) and other regions around the world. Based on all outcomes from Y4PT Dubai 2014 and introducing the “Y4PT International Healthy Mobility Year” (April 2014-2015); looking forward to UITP Milan 2015 – www.uitpmilan2015.org – and Expo Milan 2015 – www.expo2015.org -.
