Background
Youth For Public Transport (Y4PT) Foundation, with the support of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) and its members, and following the long-standing tradition of Y4PT Youth Lab series, is promoting the organization of local transport hackathons around the world, by combining the best of boundless human creativity and the benefits of current information and communications technologies (ICTs) in collaborative environments, with the aim of advancing transport sector towards sustainability.
Winners from each local transport hackathon will join other Canada-based hackers at the 1st Y4PT Global Transport Hackathon Montreal 2017 (https://www.y4pt.org/projects/hackathon) in the framework of the 62nd UITP Global Public Transport Summit Montreal 2017 – the world’s oldest and leading sustainable transport event – to contest in a final round for unveiling the world’s best ground-breaking transport solutions.
More than 20 major cities around the world are hosting the first local transport hackathons. Other cities are also welcome to join.
Different local stakeholders such as universities, youth groups, ICT companies, transport operators, authorities, start-up mentors and hackers are called to collaborate with Y4PT and to be part of the world’s first ever global transport hackathon.
Everyone is invited to get on board. This is an one-off opportunity to show to your audience and users how important is for you to support this kind of events where innovation and creativity is putting forward new ICT-related solutions to boost both the private sector business performance and the public sector policy efficacy, and thus to unlock new opportunities to expand, diversify and renew your organization’s portfolio of products and services.
About the Local Hackathon
The Office of Strategic Planning and Development of the City of Zagreb organizes the „Zagreb hackathon“ together with the Youth For Public Transport (Y4PT) Foundation, Zagreb Development Agency, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences, Zagreb University of Applied Sciences and the Zagreb Holding Company, subdivision Zagreb Electric Streetcar. The Hackathon is organized within the SocialCar project, from April 21st to 22nd 2017 in ZgForum, Gajeva 27.

Grad Zagreb, Gradski ured za strategijsko planiranje i razvoj Grada, de u suradnji s Youth For Public Transport (Y4PT) Foundation, Razvojnom agencijom Zagreb, Fakultetom prometnih znanosti, Tehničkim veleučilištem u Zagrebu i Zagrebačkim Holdingom, podružnicom ZET, a u sklopu projekta SocialCar, od 21. do 22. travnja 2017. u ZgForum-u, Gajeva 27, održati „Zagreb hackathon“.
ŠTO?
Hackathon, spoj dvije riječi ”hack” i ”marathon”, je zabavan programerski maraton i inovativna prilika za sudionike da zajedničkim radom pokažu svoje znanje i snalažljivost te izgrade zanimljive aplikacije i ponude rješenje za određeni problem, u ovom slučaju iz područja prometa. Šest ekipa de se natjecati na 24h dugom događaju na kojem de izraditi programski predložak vezan uz poboljšanje urbane mobilnosti.
KADA?
Hackathon – Zagreb de se održati od 21. travnja u 18 sati do 22. travnja u 18 sati.
Prijave de biti aktivne do 18. travnja.
KAKO?
Prijave se vrše putem Google forme: https://goo.gl/forms/82tNGiFg7Xuz2Bq73 .
Potrebno je poslati motivacijsko pismo (kod prijave u timu – za cijeli tim, kod pojedinačne prijave – individualno), u slučaju individualnih prijava organizator de osnovati tim, a u slučaju vedeg broja prijava vršit de se selekcija na temelju motivacijskih pisama.
Natjecatelji trebaju ponijeti vlastita računala.
GDJE?
Događaj de se održati u ZgForum-u, Gajeva 27, 10 000 Zagreb.
Večera, doručak i ručak de biti osigurani od strane organizatora.
TKO?
Prijaviti se mogu studenti, mladi razvojni stručnjaci te mladi inženjeri, stariji od 18 godina.
Na natjecanju de sudjelovati šest ekipa po četiri člana.
ZAŠTO?
Cilj je poticanje izrade inovativnih rješenja u prometnom sustavu Grada Zagreba.
Jedan član pobjedničkog tima imat de priliku sudjelovati, uz osiguran besplatan prijevoz (povratna zrakoplovna karta ekonomske klase), džeparac i zajednički smještaj, u finalu „Global transport hackatona“ u Montrealu, Quebec, Kanada, organiziranog od strane Youth For Public Transport (Y4PT)
Foundationa. Finale de se održati tijekom „UITP Global Public Transport Summita 2017“ od 15. do 17. svibnja 2017. UITP svake dvije godine odabire novo mjesto održavanja za Global Public Transport Summit te se ove godine odlučio za Montreal zbog njegovih nedavnih dostignuda u javnom prijevozu.
Nagrada za prvoplasirani i drugoplasirani tim je Program predinkubacije u Tehnološkom parku Zagreb u novom prostoru na Zagrebačkom velesajmu. Predinkubacija je program namijenjen mladim razvojnim timovima koji za realizaciju svoje poduzetničke ideje dobivaju podršku Tehnološkog parka Zagreb tijekom 6 mjeseci. Time de dobiti stručne savjete i edukaciju iz područja poduzetništva, 10 sati mentoriranja iz područja bliskog natjecateljima i njihovom proizvodu, te korištenje prostora za rad u novim prostorima Tehnološkog parka Zagreb.
